A Brief Club History

Clarrie Dunbar Indoor Bowls Club was opened in September 1985. It was the vision of Somerset County & Liberty Cup player Alan Whittock.

The Club was named after Alan's good friend Clarrie Dunbar who had supported Alan with the concept, planning and construction of the club, but had unfortunately passed away before it had opened.

The white fantail dove was adopted by the club as its emblem, as the club's site at Standerwick was the home of and has been associated with the birds for many years.
