COVID CASE - ACTION POLICY

The following Policy gives guidance to the types of actions that would  be taken in the event of a Covid Case being identified shortly after attending the club. Note: Consideration will be given to each individual case.

This Policy is in accordance with recommendations from discussions with Public Health England.

1.   Anyone with Covid Symptoms should not enter the club.

The main symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are: -

  • a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back.
  • a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual).
  • a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal.
  • Other symptoms

2.   In the event that someone should test positive either, by a Lateral Flow or a PCR test, after recently visiting the club, then.

a. The positive tested person will be contacted and asked who they were in contact with during their attendance at the club.

b. Playing partners/opponents and other direct contacts will be contacted:

i. If the contacted person has been double vaccinated, they should watch out for Covid symptoms and take a Lateral Flow test/s.

ii. If the contacted person has not been vaccinated, then they should isolate for 10 days and carry out regular Lateral Flow tests.

3.   In the event of someone falling ill whilst in the club and exhibiting Covid Symptoms, an assessment of the risk will be made by the member of staff on duty / management. This may necessitate the club being temporarily closed to enable thorough cleaning and sanitation.

4.   Advice from Public Health England will be sought for any occurrences that differ to the above Policy.
