HOW IT WORKS

The Sport's Governing body, the EIBA, have issued guidelines which we have followed, which will enable us to recommence playing.

The guidelines in full are available on the EIBA website (click on the link, above right).

They have conveniently prepared the poster below which summarises the document and acts as a players brief.

Update: 2nd Aug 2020

It has been brought to my attention that a member that played at the club in the late session on Tuesday 28th July, who had no symptoms of Covid-19 at the time, a few days later developed a headache and has since tested positive for the virus.

In these circumstances I’ve undertaken a deep clean as specified by the EIBA guidelines and in addition have informed the players that competed on the same rink with the affected member. The member's travelling partner who was in closest contact with the member on the night has since tested negative. NHS test and trace have not requested any information from the club at present.

Let’s wish the member concerned a speedy recovery.

At this stage it is not a mandatory requirement to wear face coverings in our sport. However, with the increasing regulatory use of face coverings in indoor facilities, I would encourage players to seriously consider the use of face masks and/or shields where possible.

Update: 3rd Aug 2020

After careful consideration, following the news reported on Friday and updated on Sunday (below), the club will be closed from the 3rd August until the 10th August.

The club has undergone a thorough deep clean over the weekend, but I recognise that there may still be concerns amongst some members. This decision is made to alleviate those concerns and provide 'peace of mind' prior to the resumption of play.

I have now spoken with NHS test and trace, they consider the risk level to be low at the moment and don't deem it necessary to do anything other than the deep clean we have made, the 'buffer' week with the club closed is purely a reassuring extra measure.

Thank you for your understanding.
